Junji Ito is about to enter the world of NFTs

The world of NFTs is rather vast, and since its popularization, millions have considered their collectability. Despite concerns about thought and sustainability, NFTs are getting bigger by the day. Not too long ago, one of Manga’s most beloved creators confirmed that they are releasing their own NFT series.

This news comes from Junji Ito, one of the most popular manga creators when it comes to horror. The Eisner Award-winning artist has just announced plans to release the NFT series based on their Tomie success story. So if you want to grab one of her pieces, the Ito collection launches in November.

According to the Ito crew, the NFT asset-based ANIMETA brand will handle the group’s release. The company also said it was “looking forward” to long-term deals with other manga makers. At this point, ANIMETA hasn’t shared plans for other manga-focused groups, but Ito could start a trend.

Of course, Ito has a lot of hidden work these days apart from this NFT series. Currently, the mangaka is participating in two anime series adapting his works, Uzumaki and Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre. Of course, Ito regularly makes new shorts and one-shots for horror fans to enjoy. His most famous works to date include works such as Tomie and Gyo. After decades of working in the field, Ito has become a leading artist in the industry with fans like Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro supporting him.
